The Beckoning ~

it beckons
autumn does
inviting one to share
in its timely demise
transitioning out of verdant life

but keep on breathing in and out,
modest and willing, and in our places?"

In The Woods ~

Come with me into the woods
 where spring is
advancing, as it does,
 no matter what,
not being singular or particular,
but one of the forever gifts,
 and certainly visible.”

they are normally found
growing in the woods
in the spring
I am fortunate to have a
couple of plants in the flower bed
where I can watch their odd growth

It Wasn't Chocolates ~

Someone I loved
once gave me a box full of darkness.
It took me years to understand
that this, too, was a gift.”

A Bearer of Light ~

"But I also say this:
that light is an invitation to happiness,
and that happiness, when it's done right,
is a kind of holiness, palpable and redemptive."
 Mary Oliver

Jesus said,
"I am the Light of the world"
John 8:12

whatever it is that you
 celebrate today be it
Halloween,
 All Saints' Day,
 Reformation Day,
or others I am not aware of,
please know you can bring light
 into someone's world with
 an act of kindness as
simple as a smile

Dawning ~

Watch, now, how I start the day
 in happiness, in kindness.

Watching ~

upon hearing
the snap of a twig
I turned
and
saw this lovely doe
watching me
it isn't often
there isn't a window
separating us
: : :
I had to concur with
Mary Oliver
when she said,
"Sometimes I need
only to stand

wherever I am
to be blessed."
