"Our eyes are at fault, that is all.
God is in the manger,
wealth in poverty,
light in darkness,
succor in abandonment.”
Dietrich Bonhoeffer
God Is In the Manger
* * *
And this shall be a sign to you;
You shall find the babe
wrapped in swaddling clothes,
lying in a manger.
Luke 2:12
* * *
“In total reality, he comes in the form of the beggar,
of the dissolute
human child in ragged clothes,
asking for help.
He confronts you in
every person that you meet.
As long as there are people,
Christ will
walk the earth as your neighbor,
as the one through whom God calls you,
speaks to you, makes demands on you.”
Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Very thoughtful post.
Dietrich Bonhoeffer has a way with words and if left alone with the Holy Spirit one will have to choose either to change or be left the same....Because God came as a humble servant, many miss Him....Merry Christmas sweet lady....
Wow, loving these quotes!!! We both like Bonhoeffer, and Phil has been reading several of his books. He was a fiercely committed Christian, yet was killed for planning to assassinate Hitler.
Beautiful truth!
i heard a beautiful song yesterday that is based on the last quote.. if i remember the name will let you know. Merry Christmas.
Ein schönes Weihnachtsfest wünsche ich dir!
Liebe Grüße
