Oh Susan, this is so beautiful. I love the image of snow covering scars giving them time to heal. We have certainly had lots of snow these past two days and the softness and whiteness of it absolutely mirrors God's tender mercy. Thank you for this.

the snow does cover everything and make it look fresh and new and lovely. i watched House hunters last night and they bought a house in MN and it was buried in snow. when the thaw came they found a front yard full of very large stones and boulders. what a shock. it looked beautiful with all of that hidden. that is what sin does, looks good until the thaw comes and we see what we could not see for being blinded by what appeared to be beauty

I have never heard these lines before, Susan, and they are speaking such truth to me this morning. As I look out at all the dirt and mud hidden beneath that blanket of clean...wisdom, yes. Mercy, all the more.
This was especially beautiful. The healing scars phrase is wonderful, but the "God invests in mercy like wintr invests in snow" deeply touched me. The phrasing with the word invests gives a bit of a different twist to it all---makes me ponder all of God's mercy--how he invests in us with it. I'll be thinking of this poem for awhile.:)
