If Poppies Dreamt ~

"Remember, remember,
this is now, and now, and now.
Live it, feel it, cling to it.
I want to become acutely aware
of all I've taken for granted

I love poppies. When John and I first married, an older neighbor lady shared poppies with us.

the first gorgeous poppy looks just like a ballerina.. the stem is her long neck and the skirt out behind her...

Such a wonderful reminder to be in the NOW. The poppy photos are wonderful. xox

If too much poppy is ingested, it could get hard to remember the now. But I sure do love them, their fuzzy buds, their skirt-like petals, everything abut them! They are one of my very favorite flowers. And I don't know what you have done to them, but you have really enhanced their beauty, made them look almost mystical.

Poppies are such a wonderful flower. I love their thin furry stems and the simplicity of their flowers.

I have a hard time photographing the red in a poppy...maybe its my camera? These are perfect! The quote by Sylvia Plath is a keeper!

taste the little purple
bits on the
third image - like the
sweet, tang of lemon drops
steeped in lavender
sugar.

This is what I want the cry of my heart to be. Susie, you have a way of finding great beauty in those things it would be so easy to overlook.
Thank you so.

It's poppy time here too! :-)

Thank you for your comment on my post - a daunting task, indeed, to write our story. I am thinking telling it through photographs is just not quite enough information for someone who did not walk in our footsteps. The quote you chose today really accents the importance of the here and now...a great reminder. Thank you.

Well captured Susan - no mean feat with the poppy's vivid red.

And such a memorable quote. Live consciously.

I wonder why she quit feeling this way to commit suicide. Such a sad waste.

I can't pick a favorite from the photos---and the quote---I'm with Linda. Love the passion in the red poppy and in the words, powerful words.

I don't know that I've been so up close to one- and the buds are fuzzy at first? Such beautiful variety of flowers and animals you have and I am always refreshed with your words and photos when leaving here.
