he's a professing lover
of Cheetos
and
squirrels
as some of you know
he hosted a poetry contest inviting his readers
to write a poem
about Cheetos
I missed the deadline
if what they say about a picture
equaling a thousand words
is true
this may be the longest poem
you have ever
viewed
four thousand words
to be exact
~ ~ ~
please remember Duane and his wife
as they deal with
the loss
of their two year old nephew

oh Susan how dear and compassionate you are.
I will keep them in my prayers.
Grace and peace to you.
What wonderful pictures of your junk food loving sqirrel! The Cheetos do give him an orange glow from his tail right to his ears. Oh, how awful when such a very young child dies.
so much heart break with loss of a child. my prayers are with them. this is just about the cutest junkie i have ever seen. that one shot his mouth is really stretching to fit around the Cheetos. i love Cheetos's myself. once at a picnic at the beach, a squirrel tried to take a bite out of the burger i had in my hand, i gave him a french fry which he loved and he kept coming back for more
Your poem is utterly eloquent. I adore the way you've captured that golden light shining through the cheetos and the squirrel's fur. And in a few photos that snow almost looks like a foamy ocean! (Clever the way you added the Cheetos logo, too.)
As for your friend, my prayers go out for them. My good friend lost her son the same way many years ago. It is heartbreaking.
Those pictures are a poem in themselves. What a sweet, loving thing to do for Mr. Scott.
I know he'll appreciate this Susan...and so do I. Bless you!
Warm and lovely poem-prayer. Blessings for Duane and family.
This little guy is just too precious! Susan, you are just amazing. I had not heard about Duane. I'll have to head over there. Bless them. What a terrible tragedy. Thank you, Susan.
What an incredibly sweet thing to do. You have a beautiful heart, Susan.
This was the best thing I've seen in a long time. You go, Susan. You've made a squirrel, Duane and a lot of friends of both of you smile today.
Not to mention the photos are downright spectacular (squirrel has some crazy-wide jaws...).
(I wonder, will we see photos of the still snow-covered yard in your woods smattered with orange squirrel-ook in a few days?)
Susan, what a beautiful blog you have, love your photos....I can tell you that squirrels also love fritoes.....thought not good for their blood pressure I suppose, all that salt! I know it meant so much to Duane during this painful time. Lori
That squirrel has developed a taste for cheese alright.
adorable captures...cheetos unite not only humanity, but all creatures large and small.
on a somber note, i'm aching for duane and his family. what a hard sadness this is.
marty duane is a very special person...
as are you.
this post fits him very well.
oh...
and it looks like the little furry creature
got a pretty good deal.
4000 words and then some Susan. These are so eloquent.
Such sad news. I will be praying.
That is such sad news -- and your poem is a lovely tribute to honour them in their sorrow.
Hugs
These are great pictures of this little squirrel in action. They are cute to watch, but cause problems too. There are too many around here and they are digging up my yard.
I did not know squrles liked cheetos. great Photos.
So cute!

I love you, Susan.
I too didn't know squirrels liked Cheetos. I'll keep Duane's family in my prayers.
I have witnessed young parents carrying their tiny coffin into a funeral service - one of the sadness moments of my life. What a blessing you are Susan to brighten your friends day with these delightful shots. I'm sure the squirrel didn't mind either ;)
Thank you for letting us know of the need for support for Duane's family. What a tragedy that we simply can't comprehend.
Safe in the arms of Jesus - our only comfort, in life and in death.
I went to Scott's blog and read how much that meant to him--how of all the things that day, yours lifted him the most. You have that gift, Susan, as I well know having been a recipient.
This post is clever and artistic and well just plain cute.
You may have started something with the Cheetos, though---the squirrel may demand more!
The pic with the cheetos log is especially cool. :)
This is a fun series of pictures :-) He sure seems to like those Cheetos!
Haha ~ I hope he washes his little paws so he doesn't get orange hand prints all over the place!
Sending warm thoughts,
xo Catheirne
I just want to thank each and everyone of you for showing your love and support.
And Susan, I'm totally going to hug you.

My deepest prayers go out to Duane and his family... So terribly, heartbreakingly sad... Your Cheeto-eating squirrel lifts our hearts as we pray, Susan! :o) ((HUGS))
this warms, and breaks, my heart, friend. thank you for the love you show...
I think you would have won! A picture really is worth a 1000 words! What a cute little guy! Perfect Poetry!
Blessings,
Ann
PS I will visit Duane sites... so so sorry to read about their loss...
Oh my dear friend what a wonderful post. I took a quick visit over to Duane's corner and just added him to my google reader. The pain he and his family are going through is deep and yet he managed to write what so many of us feel in our hearts. Thank you. xo
I just spent some time looking at the photos/writings you have placed here in this past month-plus. I've obviously missed much. Sometimes all I can do is shake my head in amazement at what you are accomplishing in the midst of the challenges of life, especially this time of year. YOU, my dear sister, have an amazingly God-given creativity gift.
do you think that little guy would eat the hot ones?
prayers to all that ache. xox
I love these photos. Just delightful. And a truly great poem!!
