Westward ~

the trees
were content
to tenderly assist

Into The Sunset ~

one of those
rare autumn evenings
 when attending
your grandson's football game
leads to more loveliness
as you wend
your way home
pure delight
in the golden beauty
of the day and its ending

We have more possibilities available
 in each moment than
 we realize.”

Reflection ~

reflected
in the east
kitchen window
is the setting of the sun
in the west
and
I am reminded that
"from the rising of the sun
till the time that it goes down
the name of the Lord
shall be praised"
not at all a bad way to view
the evanescing of
an ordinary
day

Sunset ~

Day
like a weary pilgrim
had reached the western gate of heaven

and
Evening stooped down
to unloose the latchets of his sandal shoon
 Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Peace ~

Peace
is
seeing
a sunset

and
knowing
who
to thank
