Worms & Such ~

{a little click will enlarge}
A Bird came down the Walk –
He did not know I saw –
He bit an Angleworm in halves
And ate the fellow, raw,

And then he drank a Dew
From a convenient Grass –
And then hopped sidewise to the Wall
To let a Beetle pass.
Emily Dickinson

she built her nest atop an
 outdoor light fixture
and now she is busy feeding
her little ones

I have no idea what kind
 of bird she is.

Forestedge Art Fair ~

On the third weekend of August
holds an annual
Art Fair
 there were
intricately made dolls
 of clay and felt
 stained glass items
of various sizes
 colorful bottles recycled
into hanging candles
 music in the gazebo
as people visited
 and enjoyed
the samples of wine
that were provided
 there were samples of
Darrell's "dangerously delicious"
homemade fudge
 bountiful scoops of
homemade ice cream to be purchased
 sculptures made from
re-purposed metal
it was a lovely day
from beginning
to end
 *  *  *
there were also
vendors of pottery, weavings, paintings,
homemade women's hats,  jewelry,
birdhouses and wind chimes,
plus a variety of tempting foods

Wisdom by Pooh ~

“When having
a
smackerel of something
with a friend,
don't eat so much
that you get stuck in the doorway
trying to get out.”
Winnie the Pooh

when civility
falls
by
the wayside
it appears
there's
more
than one way
to
get
what
you want
~ ~ ~
I'll confess
I'm easily amused
by
sights such as this
{a character flaw of sorts}
but
a person's gotta wonder about
the future of that sheep

A New Day ~

{click to enlarge}
I see
the
morning
embracing
the sky
casting shadows
of future
banqueting tables
welcoming
a
new day
~ ~ ~
for all of your kind
comments, thoughts and prayers
I
thank you
and
will be around
to visit
soon
