Pressing On ~

When you are told

 at the age of 22

 that you have a life expectancy

 of 20 years
you can't help but

 be more than a little thankful

 to be celebrating a birthday
with your loved ones
some 46 years later

and the best part

awaiting the birth of

your son's son

sometime later

 this month

Life is gift ... God is love.

from

the very beginning

when

you

were brand new

and

on through

the wearing times

and

the knotty times

and

the less-than-clear times

the 

times

when we have gone

toe-to-toe

and

all of the 

together times

yes

from the very beginning

you have brought

a

to my heart

The steps of a good man

are ordered

by the Lord,

and

after

I was paralyzed

due to a spinal cord injury

I rejoiced 

then

and

I am still rejoicing
