Amazing that you still have that. I have so little from the past; it's fun to see how much you've been blessed with over the years.

I love old things with stories!

You are so right: we are writing a story with our daily lives - one that will either honor or dishonor The Giver of Life. That's both exciting and challenging!

i am in love with this post! these are quite possibly my favorite photos that you've ever posted.

i was just looking at my best friend's two vintage type writers today... one of which i gave here, and was seriously considering taking back... not really, but i sure wish i had taken some cool photos of it before i gave it to her. that's okay... i know where she lives. : )

wonderful post, s.!

Beautiful pictures. As I was looking at the photos I could actually smell the ink from the old manual typewriter we use to have at our home. That really took me back! Your words are beautiful as well.

What beautiful condition that typewriter is in. My son bought an old one just for the pleasure of hearing the keys tapping.

Ah the ol' manual typewriter. I hate to 'date' myself but that is what I learned to type on in grade 10. Then by grade 11 we had a couple of IBM electric typewriters. Wow ~ that was pretty 'hi-tech' for back then! :)

Lovely photos Susan!

What a stunningly beautiful phoartpo -- ok -- so I made that word up to describe the beauty of your photos and art and poetry because you leave me speechless.

Stunningly beautiful.

And what a lovely tribute to the roots of your words today.

A few more years and teens won't have a clue as to what that machine is nor what it does.

What a treasure to have in your possession. The history that has been documented by those very keys... its fun to sit and think about the stories it could tell.

WOW- this is wonderful! How neat to have something your grandfather used and to be in such great condition. Do you have it out on display? xo

S. Etole said...

I don't, Joyce, but I have been thinking it would be fun to display it. It is very heavy.

I love old typewriters. I have one displayed in my office at work that I bought at a yard sale. You are so very lucky to have one actually used by your very own grandfather -- I love that story.

I love this...it makes me remember how I would unfold my mom's typewriter out of it's case and pound away. She was fast and I loved listening to her pound at the keys. I used to pretend I was fast like her...mostly the keys would all get jammed up and I was left with all of the ink on my fingers.

Beautiful post, and thanks for your words on my posts. I can feel your strentgh for me and it is encouraging.
